Xbox “Play Anywhere” Arrives This September

Microsoft revealed that the Xbox “play anywhere” will be released this September, with the locked games from the previous Xbox to be unlocked, but by making your OS available for Windows 10.

Those who wish to take advantage of Xbox Play Anywhere will need to have some specific updates installed. On Windows 10 machines, the Windows 10 Anniversary Edition update – coming on August 2 – must be installed. Meanwhile, Xbox One consoles must have the summer update installed.

Xbox Play Anywhere will support only downloaded versions of the games, rather than physical discs.
