WhatsApp Now Available on Google Smartwatches

The widely popular chat application WhatsApp is now available on Google smartwatches as the app has now launched on Wear OS, adding to WhatsApp’s ecosystem of OS support including Apple’s iOS and MacOS; Android, and Microsoft Windows.

The latest development for the app will let it run natively on Wear OS smartwatches, which will aid 2.7 billion monthly active users, according to bankmycell, use the app seamlessly across devices.

WhatsApp owner Meta started rolling out the app smartwatches on Wear OS 3.0.

This will let users send messages, reply to messages, and the ability to reject or accept calls without pulling out their phones from their pockets.

Moreover, the new app will let users record voice notes to later send them as voice messages straight from their smartwatches.

For LTE-enabled Wear OS smartwatches, the app will also let users enjoy the mentioned features even without their phone connected to the smartwatch.

The new app also comes as a new slate of smartwatches is set to be revealed by Samsung, as the South Korean conglomerate is set to reveal the new Galaxy Watch 6 Series smartwatches at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, slated for July 26.

The new app will certainly help users, especially in the Philippines, where WhatsApp is one of the messaging apps of choice for freelancers, virtual assistants, and other online jobs. (GFB)
