Microsoft Forced To Pay For Automatic Update

Teri Goldstein’s computer that runs on Windows 7 automatically updated itself to Windows 10. She said that the automatic updated caused her computer to be unusable.

Goldstein uses her computer for her business. Unfortunately, due to the automatic update, her computer is moving slowly.

Microsoft opted to pay Goldstein $10,000 in order to save on legal costs.

Currently, updating to Windows 10 is a “recommended update” to those who have Windows 7 and 8. The program will be installed automatically unless the user opts to block it.

Some people accused the company for “tricking” people into installing the update.
