Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE) is doubling down on its Artificial Intelligence (AI) efforts as it introduces support for four new languages and a host of other upgrades. In a year filled with innovation, the power of generative AI in Search is being harnessed to help users find information more quickly and efficiently.

This comes as Google is now making generative AI in Search available in over 120 new countries and territories. This international expansion is accompanied by support for four additional languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, and Indonesian.

Users in the mentioned regions can now use Google’s generative AI in their preferred languages.

Meanwhile, Google has also expanded the reach of generative AI in Search to India and Japan, with positive feedback from users.

Moreover, Google is now experimenting with an easier way to ask follow-up questions, noting that “it’s a more natural way to seek information or dig deeper on a topic.”

Translations will also now be more contextual, as the SGE is also focused on providing more context with its conventional translation work.

The Search Labs feature, designed for testing early-stage Search experiments, is accessible on the Google app (Android and iOS) and Chrome desktop. By enrolling in Search Labs, users can enable the SGE experiment and experience its interactive enhancements, including more straightforward follow-up searches, AI-driven translation assistance, and an expanded array of definitions, particularly useful for topics like coding.
