“Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; Not with eye-service, as men-pleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men” Ephesians 6:5-7

“She considereth a field and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.” Proverbs 31:16

There is a question that poses us: Does God want me to be successful in the work that I do?

God endorses hard work, ingenuity, and success.  In the Bible, there are believers of Jesus Christ who were both leaders in the areas of their service to the Lord, and businessmen as well. Paul, Priscilla and Aquila were tentmakers (Acts 18:1-3) The quality of your work and your enthusiasm for it reveal the nature of your commitment to Christ. Hard work done with excellence and integrity honors God and may bring material resources that can be used for God’s glory. God also recognizes that hard work does not always lead to material success. What is important is that we do our work as though God were our boss.

“Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established.” Proverbs 16:3
