What Brings God’s Approval?

Published

on

Have you ever wondered what brings God’s approval? In your daily to-dos and sit-backs, have you asked yourself if what you have been doing are having the sealed, stamped approval of God?

While how we live our lives really do matter, of course, and the way treat others, the goodness we do to them, however, that is not what saves us. Good works alone could not save us. Salvation is very important for us to consider while we are still here on earth, because, that is the basis of our destination when we face life’s unavoidable end–death. This does not mean to scare you, but it is reality. Right?

Anyway, the Bible (which is God’s written Word for us) says of two places only when we face life’s end–Heaven or Hell. Adam and Eve, the first creations on earth, ate the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. A test of obedience it was from God, both disobeyed (we know the story), and it was the first time that the man and the woman knew that they were naked. Sin dawned on man here and as a consequence, sprang forth to the succeeding generations (Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,..”). Now, since God is a just and holy God, sin has its toll. That is death, not bounded on physical death alone, but extends to eternal damnation faced in life after death, which the Bible calls as the “second death”–the one in hell (Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”).

Now there’s good news! The enclosed verse above has its continuation. It doesn’t end just at the last word. It continues, “…, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus Christ, the ‘Lamb’ who was slain, took the place of death on our behalf. This is how much God loves us–He sent His only Son to die to free us from the eternal judgement of sin. The Kingdom of God is a place of perfect holiness and it is through Jesus that we become holy, through our faith in Him thus, allowing us a FREE entry to heaven. “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

In closing, ponder on this: Someone else already took our sins’ judgement on His shoulders, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8) “For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.” (Ephesians 5:5)
