Check Stress Level With Galaxy S5’s Heart Rate Sensor

Published

on

The Samsung Galaxy S5’s heart rate sensor embedded in the back right underneath the camera just got more useful with the recent S Health update. Before, users can simply place a finger on it to find out their heart rate, but now, they can use the same sensor to check stress level as well.

Checking stress level using the Galaxy S5’s heart rate sensor is very easy. Open the S Health application and go to the Stress section. When the device prompts place a finger on the heart rate sensor. It will then show the result and let the user know if their stress level is low, high or somewhere in the middle. The readings also automatically create a chart that shows stress level on an hourly, daily or a monthly basis.

Samsung is right to point out that this measurement should not be considered for clinical or medical use. However if someone ever finds their stress level to the extreme right they might want to cool off a bit and maybe even contact a real doctor.
