Sergio’s Farm – Strawberry Picking in Cebu

Published

on

Sergio’s Farm is located in Brgy. Maloray in Dalaguete, Cebu Province. The farm is known for its sweet strawberries and strawberry picking in Cebu Province.

Sergio’s Farm was featured in local TV channel and newspapers. I haven’t tried strawberry picking when I was in Baguio City because it was off season, so when the news came out, I really wanted to go. Good thing that Ryan and Leah were going so I joined them.

We met at Caltex Gasoline Station near USJR around 6:00 AM. The gasoline station also serves as bus terminal to Mantalongon.

Travel time from Cebu City to Mantalongon market is 3 hours.

When we arrived at the market, we had our breakfast and hired habal-habal going to Sergio’s farm. Road is concrete. Air is very fresh and cold.

The Strawberry Plantation

Strawberries everywhere. Tourist were busy picking and took pictures of the fruit. The least you can buy is 1/4 kg or 250 grams. They are selling strawberries at PhP800/kilo.

Our Pick

They are selling vegetables at a very reasonable price. Carrots, variety of lettuce, radish, cauliflowers and other vegetables can be found in the farm as well.

After our strawberry picking and farm tour, we agreed to climb Kandungaw Peak and Osmeña Peak.

Travel Tips

  1. Direct buses going to Mantalongon is at Caltex Gasoline Station near USJR. You can also ride Ceres Bus at South Bus Terminal. Hop off at Mantalongon road intersection at Dalaguete proper and rent habal-habal to Mantalungon Market or to Sergio’s Farm.
  2. Farm only opens during weekends, I would recommend to go there on Saturday so that you can pick big strawberries.
  3. Nothing much to do in the farm rather than roaming around the farm land and strawberry picking, so maximize your time and be picky on selecting fruits.
  4. Support local farmers by buying fresh vegetables, the price is very cheap.
  5. Bring snacks and water. Lot of vendors also offers snacks and refreshments.
  6. Transportation going to market is not a problem, lots of habal-habal drivers are just in the area.
