Philippine Honorary Consul to Tunisia Visited the Cebu Provincial Government

The Philippine Honorary Consul to Tunisia recently visited the Cebu Provincial Government together with the Philippine Charge d’Affaires to Tripoli and the Department of Foreign Affairs Region 7 last November 27 at the Capitol Dignitaries Hall, Cebu City.

Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino and Mr. Benjamin Joseph Yap of the Cebu Investment and Promotions Office (CIPO) welcomed the Honorary Consul Mme Sonia Ayed-Sayah​. The Honorary Consul is accompanied by the Charge d’Affaires of the Philippine Embassy in Tripoli, Libya Mr. Adelio Angelito Cruz to meet with local government officials and businessmen in Cebu.

The Consul was interested to learn more about Cebu especially on the investment and tourism sector. As an incumbent board member of the ‎Tunisian Asian Travel agency, Madame Sayah appealed to see a lot of tourism destinations in the Province and is keen on promoting the Philippines to Tunisia and divert international tourists to the country particularly to Cebu.

In addition, the Consul was eager to meet a lot of businessmen in Cebu and to do business matching for Tunisian companies. Mr. Yap assured Madame Sayah that the CIPO is willing to provide assistance in organizing these business matching activities and invite the latter in upcoming activities in Cebu.

Mr. Yap presented the investment climate in Cebu as well as the advantages of investing in Cebu. (by July Anne Guibone)
