PhilHealth Stops Accepting Cash Payment Effective July 1

Cagayan De Oro City (PNA) – The PhilHealth regional office would stop accepting payment starting July 1, 2015, an official announced Tuesday.

Marlon Arabaca, the PhilHealth regional manager, said that all transactions of the government health insurance firm would now be “paperless and cashless,” which could be done online.

He said that all payments, particularly involving private firms, would be done through electronic remittance and the payments be made to accredited banks.

Usually, the PhilHealth regional office here accepts payments of health insurance premium from various private firms and government offices.

With the implementation of the “paperless and cashless” transaction, officials urged all clients to register online in order to utilize the PhilHealth electronic remittance and payment system. (PNA) RMA/CD
