‘Pacman’ to Win Via Unanimous Decision – AFP

(PNA) — Filipino boxing champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will win via unanimous decision over American Floyd “Money” Mayweather come their historic bout Sunday (Manila time).

Incidentally, Pacquiao holds a reserve colonel commission in the Philippine Army and is the nominal head of the first Sarangani Reserve Battalion.

This was the belief of Armed Forces of the Philippines chief-of-staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang, AFP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Joselito Kakilala said Wednesday.

“That’s the fearless forecast of our AFP chief-of-staff,” he said in Filipino.

Catapang based his prediction Mayweather’s predilection to run away from his opponent and attack only on when circumstances favor.

However, such tactics may not work to volume punchers like Pacquiao who is known to outpunch by a huge margin regardless of the defense they employ.

“He will run but he can’t hide,” Kakilala quoted Catapang as saying.

As this develops, the AFP spokesperson said that they will be placing giant screens on the grandstand, gym, multi-purpose hall in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City to provide soldiers on duty with a chance to watch the historic bout.

This will also be done on all major services bases and camps nationwide.

Kakilala said that the AFP is not anticipating any security threat during the May 3 bout as enemies of the state and criminals often go down to the cities, without weapons, to watch Pacquiao box. (PNA) CTB/PFN
