NDRRMC Monitors Effects of TD Auring

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) continuously monitors effects of Tropical Depression Auring.

As of 11am today, TD Auring has weakened into a low pressure area. All areas under tropical cyclone warning signal are now lifted. The low pressure area is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Bicol Region and Samar provinces.

Residents in these areas are alerted against possible flooding and landslides. Meanwhile, light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over CALABARZON and over the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

Meanwhile, strong to gale force winds has weakened in the eastern seaboards of Visayas and Mindanao. Small fishing boats and seacrafts are alerted against moderate to rough seas especially in the coasts of Samar, Leyte and Davao Oriental.

The National Council is closely monitoring updates and incidents related to this weather system. The NDRRM Operations Center remains to be on BLUE ALERT for continuous monitoring of the effects of TD Auring and in view of the Black Nazarene Traslacion 2017.

Likewise, the National Council’s Response Cluster is activated. The public is advised to stay vigilant and monitor weather updates through radio, television and social media. (NDRRMC)
