Iloilo City (PNA) — Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) made a big leap in the campaign against illegal drugs in 2015, as compared to the gains made the previous year.

A total of 236 anti-drug operations were conducted by all units of IPPO from January to December 8, 2015 leading to the arrest of 325 drug personalities in the province of Iloilo.

A total of 1.8 kilograms (kgs) of shabu and 4.7 kgs. of marijuana were recovered with an estimated value of Php10.8 million and Php71, 827.00 pesos, respectively.

These figures are significantly higher as compared to the operations made in 2014 where only 183 anti-illegal operations were conducted which led to the arrest of 298 drug personalities.

IPPO OIC Police Senior Superintendent Roderick Augustus Alba vowed to sustain the operations of IPPO with the active support of the Iloilo Provincial Government.

“Without the support of the stakeholders and the community, our campaign against illegal drugs will not come to fruition,” Alba stressed. (PNA) FPV/PGL-PR/CBF
