on

High heels are worn to help your legs appear longer as well as make you look slimmer and feel more confident. However, heels can hurt and donning them has been related to conditions such as heel pain, knee pain and even lower-back pain. It can also cause yourself a lot of pain and blistering.

Following are some tips that help you walk and wear high heels without feeling pain.

1. Take shoes off and rest your feet

Your feet will thank you if you give them the well-deserved rest for awhile. Take off your shoes immediately when you arrive at home, wiggle your toes and rotate your ankles. Only sport high heels when you don’t have to walk or move a lot. If your feet are hurting, you should soak them in warm water and put up your legs. You should also have foot massages to keep your feet healthy and less prone to pain if you have to don high heels.

2. Opt for well-constructed quality shoes

Well-designed shoes don’t hurt as bad as the heels that are cheap and available everywhere. They have shock absorbing materials in the ball of the foot, so they provide you with more comfort. You should also wear foot pads or insoles inside of these shoes to relieve the pressure on your feet to an extent as well as reduce blistering and pain.

3. Wear shoes that are not too high and narrow

Wearing high heels that are too tall for you can cause a lot of the pain. Similarly, the shoes that don’t fit properly can cause the front of your foot to fly forward, thereby creating more pressure and pain on your toes. Therefore, it’s better for you to choose a sensible heel that will allow you to walk normally. Also, when buying high heels, try to get the best-fitting ones possible and make sure that they give enough room in the front of the shoe to not cramp your foot.

4. Keep good posture

Keep good posture because the worse your posture and walking habits are, the worse pain you’re going to experience while sporting high heels. Stand up straight and walk in a straight line. This will not only give you better balance but also help you prevent unusual wear on the shoes.

5. Walk properly

While wearing high heels, remember to take smaller steps. Don’t place your toes and heels on the ground at the same time. Instead, put your heel to the ground first, followed smoothly by your toes. That’s the correct way of walking with your heels on.
