Filipino Priest Charged for Rape in Philadelphia

A Filipino priest based on Philadelphia was charged of raping an altar girl offering the victim drugs and alcohol in their encounters.

In a report from www.nbcphiladelphia.com, Rev. Armand Garcia, 49 years old, who surrendered to Philadelphia police on Monday, is said to have raped and drugged an altar girl in his former parish in Immaculate Heart Parish in Roxborough five years ago.

The alleged rape happened on August 2014.

The altar girl was 16 years old when Garcia first abused the victim. Garcia would also film and photograph the victim.

According to investigators, the abuse happened for years inside his personal quarters, parish rectory, and other locations.

Garcia is currently residing at Saint Martin Parish in Roosevelt Boulevard in the city’s Summerdale section.

Garcia paid a $250,000 bail on Monday and was released.
