Participate while there’s enough time!

The Commission on Elections is calling on the public to take advantage of the upcoming Yuletide break and participate in the ongoing voter registration for the 23 October 2017 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections which started last 07 November 2016 and will end on 29 April 2017.

Applications for registration, transfer, transfer with reactivation, reactivation, change/correction of entries and inclusion/reinstatement of records in the list of voters will be received by the Offices of the Election Officers (OEO) from 8 am to 5 pm, Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, except on December 24 and 25, 2016, and April 13 and 14, 2017.

The Christmas break would be a good chance to register, especially for those who will be coming home to the province since the electoral process necessitates that you can only vote in your locality if you are registered as a voter there,” Comelec Chairman Andres Bautista said.

The Commission is expecting to register 3 million more voters for the barangay elections and 2 million more voters for the SK elections. (COMELEC)
