City High School Receives Php1.4M Worth of Sports Facility, Equipment

Iloilo City (PNA) — Pilmico Foods Corporation on Monday turned over to the Jaro National High School (JNHS) here some Php1.4 million worth of rehabilitated basketball court and sports equipment.

Pilmico vice president for sales Hendel Cabral said that they have chosen the JNHS as beneficiary to further improve its sports facility -– USWAG Gym–that was constructed through a fund from the office of Iloilo City lone district Rep. Jerry P. Treñas.

Pilmico added Php800,000 to the Php600,000 that was generated from the Salto Breeder’s Benefit Sabong last March 21 at the Iloilo Coliseum to complete the project.

Salto gamefowl feeds is owned by Pilmico.

The cockfight was attended by close to 400 cockfighting aficionados and featured Salto’s pool of national endorsers.

During the turnover ceremony this morning, Pilmico also gave basketball balls to the members of the varsity team of Jaro NHS.

“This will be an instrument for you to grow better, to be better and to corporately be the best, and to hone your talents,” Cabral said.

With the donation, the school’s USWAG Gym is now fully rehabilitated and provided with sports equipment, thereby making it of international standard. (PNA) LAP/PGL/CBFERRER/CBF
