Governor Hilario Davide III has been very strong in his pursuit of an all-out campaign against crime and illegal drug-related activities around the province.

As part of the continuous programs solely crafted for the development of our police officers, the Cebu Provincial Government supports the realization of an off campus intelligence course for 70 aspiring intelligence officers who qualified for the training.

The opening ceremony of the Joint Police Intelligence Off Campus 2015 was held on Oct. 26 at Dimalupig Clubhouse PC Hills in Lahug, Cebu City.

“I encourage everyone to make the best out of this rare opportunity. Not everyone is given the privilege to undergo this training. I trust that you take this to heart and may we all serve our people better, ” said Davide.

Police intelligence is the product or the result of processing raw information from the process of gathering or collecting information, evaluation and analysis, interrogation and interpretation, Davide added.

In December last year, around 60 officers graduated from the same off campus intelligence course.

Four months from now, another 70 students who may be called intelligence officers are expected to set higher goals and effectively deliver excellent outputs in the intelligence office.

With the addition of this intelligence-trained personnel, a better result in the performance of duties, particularly in the improvement of intelligence-led operations, in the province is foreseen.

This kind of training is usually offered in Camp Crame that entails huge preparations, especially financially.

Thus, Police Chief Superintendent Prudencio Bañas recognized the help of the Intelligence Training Group for accommodating their request to conduct an off campus intelligence course in the province.

“Governor Davide does not just support us in our various programs but he has also been our partner in our personnel career development through our continuous trainings. In behalf of the Police Regional Office 7, we are thankful to the Governor for always extending his help to our programs,” said Bañas.

The assembly place of the official training is at the Civil Service Office on Oct. 27 at 7:45 a.m.
