Capa is the New CCPO Chief

(Public Information Office) — Senior Superintendent Conrad Capa is the new officer in charge of the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) effective December 4, 2014 Thursday.

This after the promotion and reassignment of outgoing CCPO director Senior Superintendent Noli Romana to the Civil Security Group in Camp Crame also effective on the same date.

Capa will hold the new post in concurrent capacity as a deputy regional director for operation in the Police Regional Office 7. Looking back, Capa was known for successfully heading Task Force Tugis that led to the arrest of alleged housing scammer Mr. Delfin Lee before he was assigned in Central Visayas.

Meanwhile, Romana who was the former chief of the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office prior to his assignment in this city will be in a higher position in Camp Crame.

Cebu City Mayor Michael L Rama embraced the new development citing that he won’t block something that is considered a promotion.

In the ceremonial relinquishment of office program held at the Plaza Sugbo right after the Flag-raising ceremony of Cebu City Hall employees last Monday December 15, Rama thanked Romana for an exemplary service to the city as police chief for one year and four months.

Romana received plaque and medal during the ceremony for his active service as CCPO director especially for the peaceful 2013 barangay election and the 2014 Grand Sinulog celebration, and likewise for his fight against crime especially on illegal drugs.

Borrowing Mayor Rama’s mantra, Romana pointed out that indeed together we can make the best things happen as one great team. He likewise thanked the city’s chief executive for the trust and to the Cebuanos whom he served in maintaining the peace and order situation of the city.

In addition, Capa who assured everyone to be an active city’s chief of police in his previous media interviews was not able to attend the ceremony because of prior commitment.

Furthermore, the tour of duty for a chief of police will last for two years as a standard operating procedure and will depend on circumstances and other issues and concerns to consider for an extension. (By: Greggy Jiggs P. Senados/Cebu City PIO)
