Bulacan Weekly Newspaper to Give Space for Candidates

Malolos City, Bulacan (PNA) — In a bid to help voters in choosing the best candidates, MetroNews Bulacan — the oldest English weekly newspaper in the province — will feature competing candidates and their platforms of government in order to give its readers a more wider perspective in getting to know the best bets in the coming May 2016 polls.

“This could trigger a change and educate our voters in choosing the best candidates,” Orlan L. Mauricio, publisher and editor-in-chief of Metro News Bulacan, said.

He said that MetroNews-Bulacan, which is accredited by the Bulacan Regional Trial Courts as a weekly newspaper with general circulation, has been doing this since it was established in 1983.

Lawyer Elmo Duque, Bulacan provincial election supervisor, hailed the initiatives of MetroNews-Bulacan and encouraged other media outfits to do the same so that the voters will be enlightened on what kind of candidates they will vote in the coming 2016 election. SCS/ZST/EGGAMOS/PS
