Meet The HTC’s Selfie Phone – HTC Desire Eye
HTC has announced its selfie smartphone – the HTC Desire Eye, a mid-range phone that has the same camera on the front as it does on the back. It’s a 13-megapixel camera – the highest resolution front-facing camera to date, that features autofocus, a dual LED flash on both the front and back of the phone, and 1080p video recording.

Design
The HTC Desire Eye is made of plastic polycarbonate and an IPX7 water resistant, so it can be dunked under a meter of water for up to 30 minutes without issue.
The Desire Eye’s BoomSound speakers are also back. It is now thin slits that blend into the top and bottom bezel.
Camera
The Desire Eye has 13-megapixel front and back camera. Both cameras have a dual LED flash to accompany them.
HTC’s camera now has an auto capture mode and can take picture when it detects everyone is smiling. You can also use voice commands to activate the shutter.
“Split Capture” enables you to take a split-screen image with the front and back camera at the same time.
Another feature called “Crop Me-In” green-screens you out and lets you place yourself into other backgrounds.
There’s also a skin-smoothing effect and a new Photobooth options which let you take pics in a film sheet or grid layout.
Pricing and Availability
The Desire Eye will be available from AT&T later this year as an exclusive launch partner at a price that’s yet to be determined. No word on whether any other carriers will pick up the device after the initial launch.
