Logitech Unveiled PowerShell Game Controller for iPhone/iPod Touch
Logitech on Wednesday introduced a gaming case for the iPhone 5, iPhone 5S and fifth-generation iPod Touch running iOS 7 that will add console-style controls including a directional pad, four face buttons and two shoulder buttons. The gaming case slips over the iPhone/iPod, but still offers access to the camera, power button and headphone jack.
The Logitech’s controller can also charge the iOS device since it includes a 1,500 mAh battery, and can also be charged simultaneously with a device through the controller’s micro-USB port.
Apple allows two types of game controllers and two configurations all with pressure sensitive buttons and consistent layouts. The first type of controller is the form-fitting controller (Logitech’s PowerShell Controller), which allows your iOS device to be docked right into the controller. There will also be standalone controllers that connect over Bluetooth.
Logitech isn’t the only iOS controller case on the market. The MOGA Ace Power Controller for iPhone was also announced this week.
The Logitech PowerShell Controller and Battery is available for preorder via Apple’s online store at $99.99 and will expand distribution set for December.
