LTO-7 Calls on Car and Motorcycle Owners: Claim Your Plates

The Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas has once again called on motor vehicle owners bearing temporary plates to claim their license plates at the nearest LTO office.

This is because thousands of unclaimed license plates are still stacked at their storage facility in Talisay, including motorcycles and four-wheel vehicles.

The only thing that the vehicle owner has to do, according to LTO 7 regional director Glen Galario, is visit the nearest LTO office in their area and process the release of their unclaimed license plates.

“Bring a copy of your original receipt and certificate of registration to the nearest LTO 7 and present it to our Public Assistance Complaints Desk so that we can process the release of your plates,” Galorio added.

To process the release of license plates in LTO offices, vehicle owners should fill out the Plate Information Form through the PACD and submit their copy of OR and CR.

They will be receiving a text confirmation within the next 48 hours to know the status of their license plates and/or when to claim them.

Even though the LTO-7 has already released over a hundred thousand plates last year, there are still thousands that are left unclaimed at the storage facility.

LTO-7 data showed that they have distributed a total of 105,127 license plates in the last 7 months from June 9, 2023, to January 19, 2024.

The number of released plates includes 91,835 for motorcycles and 13,154 motor vehicle plates.

Galario also said that his office will again intensify “Oplan Bigay Plaka” to further decrease the backlogs in the release of official vehicle plates or license plates. (ZAG)
