Where it is a season for Intramurals in most colleges in Cebu now, Junior Chamber Cebu International (JCI), Spectrum, Sonic Boom in cooperation with the Cebu City government, have organized the biggest event in the university calendar this year, “UNIVERCITY. Let The Games Begin.”–a one stop festival featuring art installations from the different universities, carnival games, live bands, DJs, performers, cheerleaders, varsity teams, geeks, crushes, friends, you and every thing that comes with college and beyond.

JCI, a civic group which does community projects and exists to connect with people, partnered with events company Spectrum to organize this event. JCI has 30 members who are mostly entrepreneurs who wish to make an impact to the community through initiative like feeding and medical assistance.

“UNIVERCITY. Let The Games Begin.” is for the benefit of Brgy. Asungot Elementary School where proceeds shall be used to build more classrooms; Central Visayas Search and Rescue Group, Inc. (CEVSAR) for additional equipment; and HAP-C patients, for medical assistance. HAP-C is a kind of bleeding disorder.

“It started out as a sit down talk with co-organizers…We wish to unite university schools and to make connections,” quips John Eric Canama of JCI.

Students and non-students are expected to join the event which will be held at the Sugbu Open Field, South Road Properties (SRP), Cebu City on August 24. Gates will open at 4 p.m. while program starts at 5 p.m. until dawn. Goers who will need transportation don’t need to worry as buses will be provided. These will be stationed in the respective schools and will drive passengers to the venue. The vehicles are also available for transporting goers back to the city or in the drop off points after the event.

Face paintings and raffles will also transpire, and a free wall will stand for expressions to write on.  Tickets are at P200 and are available at Islands Souvenirs Ayala, SM and Raintree Malls, StokedInc., Ayala and SM, and Chillage (beside CDU). For more info, log on to spectrum.ph
