World’s Largest Floating Book Fair Now in Cebu

(PNA) – Logos Hope, the world’s largest floating book fair, will again visit the country starting this month until July.

Bishop Efraim Tendero, National Director, Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches (PCEC), said vessel will arrive in Cebu on May 5 and will be berthed at the Malacañang Sa Sugbo until May 28.

The vessel will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m.– 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays to Saturdays, and 2:00 p.m.– 9:30 p.m. on Sundays.

The ship will be closed on Mondays. Ticket costs Php20 per person; children under 13 years old can enter for free but must be accompanied by adult.

The two other stops will be in Subic Bay and San Fernando, in June and July, respectively.

The ship first arrived the country in 2012 where over 115,000 people visited Logos Hope.

“We very much look forward to returning once more to Cebu. We always enjoy the warm welcome, the wonderful hospitality –- and the great food too!” said Captain Tom Dyer in a statement.

Logos Hope’s on board book fair offers an expanded selection of over 5,000 different titles at affordable prices. They cover a range of subjects including science, sports, hobbies, cookery, arts, medicine, languages and philosophy. With children’s titles, academic texts, dictionaries, atlases and more.

Additionally, the rest of the Visitor Experience Deck is also open for the public to explore. From the Welcome Area, which introduces the vessel through a short movie and interactive displays, to the International Café, which has ice cream, drinks and snacks for sale.

MV Logos Hope is operated by GBA Ships e.V., an international, charitable organisation registered in Germany. Since 1970, the organisation has welcomed over 44 million visitors up the gangways in over 150 countries and territories around the world.

The vessel works in association with Operation Mobilization Philippines, a Christian non-profit organization involved in community development and relief work in various regions of the country.
