What’s Right

“There is nothing to regret if you choose to do the right thing.”

Each of those pieces of advice I gained from regular meetings in church contributed a lot to my life.

As much as I want to do something else, I chose to do what our church leaders have in store for us. I kept reminding myself that I have a lot of things to do before I get a good night’s sleep, but eventually, God makes ways for me to really learn from Him.

All my life, I’ve been taught to do good at home, in school, in church, and in the community. Born and raised in the city, my needs were secured, and we had a little taste of luxury and pampering every now and then.

The thing that bothered me the most were the What If’s and the famous quote of “Living life to the fullest,” but really, there is something far greater than these.

It all became clear to me after being confronted with so many bitter situations and poor judgment. It was then that I had to make a choice, whether to let people and emotions run your life or to let go, and find out what you’re capable of.

I chose the second one, and it truly did make me happy, it became my guiding principle.

Most of the time, people fail to realize the importance of truth and right conduct; simple lessons about good rapport from the family, proper etiquette in school, and fairness and equality are often missed out because of our desire to grow, and our lack of patience and prayer.

Routines can turn into habits and habits into character. If we start as a good egg, then we will continue to be one if we are constantly guided by truth and right conduct, which we can learn from our parents. Well, it might sound like a nag oftentimes, but try not to mind the tone and focus on their intentions, not their emotions.

Sometimes, when we’ve tried our best and our patience is running low, it’s relieving to shout it out in prayer.

God listens. When everything else fails, never feel that you’re all alone because He is always there. It is He who knows you completely, so be patient in His plan for you!

Psalm 139: 1-4 says, “You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue; you, Lord, know it completely.”
