What Is Faith?

Hebrews 11: 1 ” Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

We are talking about FAITH here that is founded on God. Many attach the word to many things such as, faith to someone we love, faith to a material thing, faith to a dream, ambition or aspiration, faith to a family member and even faith to self.

However, Christians have a different view of this ‘mind-busting’ word. Here are a few of what “faith” is in the Christian perspective.

1) Faith is greater than our fears. There is a saying which tells that “similar to house dweller, when faith sets inside, fear automatically jumps out of the window”. You cannot have both. It’s either you have the one or the other.

2) Faith is standing still in the Lord in the midst of troubles. This is TRUST -a synonym of faith.

3) Faith is to finish what you are praying for and then going out to put action to your prayer.

4) Faith steps out of the impossible. Even when the circumstance seems impossible, but you are sure it is a mandate from the Lord, you go for it.

5) Faith endures to the end.

These few definitions will aid you put FAITH into practice.
