Voters Can Go Online to Check Biometrics – Comelec Exec

Voters may now go online to check if they have completed their biometrics, an election official said.

Cebu Provincial Election Officer Ferdinand Gujilde said the Commission on Elections (Comelec) website (www.comelec.gov.ph) now has a feature where voters can access and check if they have completed their biometrics or not.

Gujilde said this web service was launched last June 10.

Gujilde said some four million voters in the country still do not have biometrics.

In Cebu, there are more than 140,000 voters who have incomplete biometrics data, which include digital photographs, fingerprints and signatures.

Voters who fail to complete their biometrics data until Oct. 31, 2015, which is also the last day of registration, could not vote in the May 2016 elections.

Gujilde said they have been sending out notices to the registered voters who have not yet completed the requirement to go to their Comelec offices.

Gujilde said voters can visit the Comelec homepage at www.comelec.gov.ph., click the “voter registration” then “without/incomplete biometrics.”

Once the voter is in the “voters without biometrics” page, he has to click “city/municipal list of voters without biometrics,” and key in the province and municipality or city where he is registered.

If the name of the voter appears in the list, it means that he has no or incomplete biometrics and must go to the Comelec office and complete the requirement. (PNA) RMA/EB/PJN
