Voter Registration Resumes for 2022 Philippine Elections

Published

on

Starting from October 11 to 30, Commission on Elections (COMELEC) offices across the Philippines will resume voter registration activities for the 2022 Philippine elections. COMELEC offices will entertain applicants from 8 am to 5 pm.

This comes after COMELEC staff spent a week filled with paperworks by politicians after a long week of filing certificates of candidacy in the Philippines who are seeking seats in different posts in the country.

This is the last extension after the congress passed a bill to move the deadline by a month and it was signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The COMELEC, however, was insistent on having September 30 be the last day of registration as it is convenient for various preparations for voting day.

Currently over 63 million Filipinos are registered voters for the 2022 elections.

There will be no more extension after October 30.
