Vax Registration for Kids Starts in Central Visayas

The Department of Health 7 (DOH 7) announced that parents are now able to register their kid’s ages 5 to 11 years old for the COVID-19 vaccination.

DOH 7 Chief Pathologist Dr. Mary Jean Loreche said that the vaccines for children are scheduled to arrive between January 31 to February 2.

DOH 7 added that vaccines that will be administered to children 5 to 11 years old are Pfizer and Moderna but with a different dosage, dilution method, doses for administration, and storage conditions.

Although the guidelines are not released yet, DOH 7 said that they are ready to administer the COVID-19 vaccine for this age group.

As of January 25, Visayas COVID-19 Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC) logged 3.7% out of the 112,012 aged 12 to 17 with comorbidities have been fully vaccinated while 10.4 received their first jab.

Meanwhile, over 1 million teens and children without comorbidities received the jabs (32% are fully vaccinated and 45% received their first dose). (ASC)
