UPelikula 2014 Announces Winners

It was a ‘star-studded’ evening. ‘Star’ because the Marcelo Fernan Press Center was filled with the future filmmakers, actors and actresses in the Cebu film industry, that night. Last February 22, the University of the Philippines-Cebu held the 2014 UPelikula Awards Night, the third in a row of the fest and one of the highlights of the school’s MassComm days this year, along with Miss UP Cebu.

This time, the organizers went “Beyond the Big Screen”, deviating from the previous years’ in-campus competition only. The recently concluded event opened its doors to film aficionados from other universities in Cebu namely University of San Carlos, University of San Jose-Recoletos and Cebu Institute of Technology University among others.

44 entries came in the Short Experimental Creatives category, Short Film and Documentaries. All categories were sub-categorized into student and amateur divisions.
