United Kingdom-based higher education magazine Times Higher Education (THE) released their THE Asia Rankings 2022, which shows several Philippine universities that made it once again in the rankings.

Philippine universities University of the Philippines (UP) and De La Salle University (DLSU) made it into the rankings, with UP dropping a whopping 45 spots, while DLSU maintained its rank.

UP went down from the 84th best Asian university in 2021 to the 129th spot in 2022, marking a drop of 45 places.

Moreover, DLSU went on to maintain its spot in the 401 to 500 bracket of the rankings.

Meanwhile, Ateneo de Manila University was not ranked this year. Ateneo de Manila was instead listed as a “reporter” by Times Higher Education.

Universities with “reporter” status are institutions that are active in the ranking process, though these institutions are not ranked for this year.

No Cebu university made it into the rankings.

THE used 13 indicators and were grouped into 5 areas, namely: citations, international outlook, industry income, research, and teaching. (GFB)
