UNDER CUSTODY

Former Talisay City Mayor and Councilor Socrates Fernandez’s green Pajero is deteriorating at the Talisay City Police Station yard. The vehicle, which has a “mayor” plate on the front, was seized by police for custody after the former mayor’s son Joavan had allegedly intentionally rammed it into a police car last October 2011, earning him a malicious mischief case.

Joavan was able to escape this charge by bailing himself out but not his other string of cases, which includes a reported illegal possession of explosives and firearms on May last year, within an election gun ban. He has been detained at the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center since his arrest. (Photo by LGC)
