Tropical Cyclone Marilyn Weakens; Slows Down As It Moves Northwest

Tropical Cyclone (TC) Marilyn has weakened and slowed down as it moves in a northwest direction, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The weather state bureau has located TC Marilyn at 1,095 kilometer (km) East of Baler, Aurora. It carries maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within 500km diameter of the typhoon.

‘Marilyn’ was forecast to move Northwest at 13 kph.

Fisher folk are advised not to venture out over the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon and over the eastern seaboards of Luzon and Visayas.
