Treat Your Friends to Fresh and Fruity Ice Pops

Published

on

Aside from jumping into a pool, what’s the best way to quickly feel refreshed on a hot summer day? Indulge in cold snacks – homemade ice pops! Get the kids involved in the preparation and use fresh fruit so you don’t have to feel guilty about having more than one.

Here’s a colorful recipe so you can whip up a batch each week if you like. Invite the whole family and let them select their favourite fruits to include in their personal batch.

Supplies:

• Ice pop molds (one per family member)

• Popsicle sticks

• Selection of fruit and juice

Ingredients:

• Two to five fruits per mold − think two round fruits and three types of berries or grapes

• Fruit juice − lemonade and white grape are light and complimentary with many flavors

Before pouring your mixtures, be sure to soak the ice pop moulds in warm water and soap. Try using Green Works Dishwashing Liquid to wash away dust if they’ve been sitting unused all season. You won’t have to worry about any harsh chemical residue being left behind.

Directions:

1. Combine fruit in a bowl and pour 3 ounces of the mixture into each spot of the mould.

2. Pour juice until it covers the fruit mixture.

3. Place popsicle sticks into the mixture, leaving 1 to 2 inches poking out, and freeze for 6 hours until set.

From chopping fruit, to pouring juice, you’re bound to have a little mess left behind. To get the kids involved, stay away from harsh cleaners and opt for a naturally-derived product like the Green Works All Purpose Cleaner to make the cleanup quick on messy counters. As for the dirty knives and cutting boards, simply place them in the dishwasher and let the new Dishwasher Detergent Pacs from Green Works take care of the rest.
