Thousands Avail Free Services In Kinasang-an!

“We are thankful to Mayor Michael Rama for creating this program as it is of great help to the people especially to the poor (Nagpasalamat mi ni Mayor Rama nga naghimo siya ug ingon ani nga programa kay dako kaayo ni ug tabang hilabi na sa mga kabos),” said Lolo Gregorio Godinez, 79, who was among the thousands of residents of Barangay Kinasang-an who availed of the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorstep today February 11, 2016 Thursday.

Godinez who availed of the medical consultation further shared that the activity must be conducted regularly for it is an advantage for the people to save time, money and effort in visiting the various offices in Cebu City Hall to avail the basic services.

For May Romano, 36, she shared that the program is laudable and shows that the Cebu City Government is doing a great job in extending services beyond from their respective offices.

Kinasang-an is one of the eighty villages comprising this city. It has 15,893 residents. and situated in the South District of the city which is about 30 minutes away from the Cebu City Hall.

Kinasang-an village officials and workers showed support for the great success of the activity.

Village chief Jeffrey Navarro and Councilor Luther Bartolome who chairs the COmmittee on Health graced the event which is the third time held in the barangay.

In his message the Navarro thanked Mayor Rama for giving them projects and programs like the City Hall at Your Doorstep and many others.

City Councilor Nendell Hanz Abella and former City Councilor Eduardo Rama Jr. also graced and showed their support to the program.

Meanwhile, the City Hall at Your Doorsteps is an initiative of Mayor Rama which aims to bring the basic services from the Twenty-Two (22) Departments comprising the Cebu City Government closer to the people and avail it for free.

The free services included Medical and Dental Services; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates consultation; Legal Consultation; Real Property Consultation; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells; Cedula issuance; Seedling distribution; Pet registration and vaccination; Pre-screening on Job Fair Employment referral; Free hair-cutting; Drainage and Road Maintenance; Traffic issues and Concerns consultation; Blood typing, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution; Mass Feeding; Cutting and trimming of trees; Urban Poor Related issues and Let there be Light consultation; Seminar and orientation of drug related issues; and Information dissemination and documentation, among several others.
