The Ironies of God (In My Life)

Published

on

I am not affluent, but the Lord allows me to rub elbows with the ‘influential’ people in society. I am not wealthy, but I have tried jetsetting and going to many different beautiful places across the country and abroad for free. I don’t have a lot of money, but I have tried receiving material things, which I did not expect to have. I am not born intelligent, but I can perceive, conceptualize and create things which I’ve never thought of before. I am not confident, but I can use my talents and gifts, decide on things, face and lead a people.

I am not 100% healthy, but I am a busy person. All these are just to share a few of the blessings I have received since I came to know Jesus Christ.

Indeed, the ironies of God.

I remember the verse in 1 Corinthians 1: 27-29 which says, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him.”

God is the god of ironies (too)! In this stream of thought, it is an understatement not to say that we all are a work in progress. Whether we have reached the destination which God promised us or not yet, one thing’s for sure, it’s all a work in progress.

The Word in Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do,” and in Philippians 1: 6  “…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

So a piece of thought, one day we’ll see ourselves like a done creative tapestry knitted by the One ‘Master Weaver’—delightful of the finished work He has done in you and I. Allow God to brush on those strokes and mix the appropriate ‘colors’ on you -the canvas- and you’ll see how beautiful the artwork is in the end.
