The Heart of a Gift

Published

on

Is your life worth living? Why do some people commit suicide while others are trying all the possible ways to extend their lives? Life itself is a mystery that cannot be fathomed. If you are to search it in Google, there are so many results compiled. It varies from scientific theory, excerpts from biblical scriptures or just an inspirational story and etc. Opinion about it differs from the person’s point of view though. As for me, I see life as a gift.

Not all of us are given the chance to live in this world. Every second in a day, a life of one person is taken away. For instance, some babies die either upon conception or at birth. Some adults die due to accidents, illness and aging. Some have to risk their lives because of their profession. Thus, no one really knows when, where and how they’re going to return the gift of life.

Your life is given to you because of a reason. Let’s portray it like this. If your friend is having his/her birthday in next week and you are supposed to give something, what will you do? Will you buy something in random? Or will you think about it carefully and see to it that it fits him/her? A true friend will make an effort on the gift he/she chooses so that the recipient will be happy and will make the best out of it. Same with God, before He gives you the gift of life, He already thinks about you and has a good reason why He gave it to you. You may not know the real reason behind it as of now but that’s what makes it more challenging. Always remember that you already have a worth in God’s eyes. You deserve to be alive.

I am not here to give a lecture. I am expressing my thoughts that I hope may inspire you. Finally, let me remind you of this, A gift is something given to someone to bring happiness. In relation to that, happiness is a feeling in the heart and is recognized by the mind. Hence, being able to receive the gift from God, you should recognize the feeling in your heart and make it your reason in your mind to continue your journey in this life no matter what happens in the future.
