A temporary bus service between the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) and the SM City-Cebu at the North Reclamation Area in Cebu City has been opened for the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Ahmed Cuizon, Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) assistant general manager, said the service was launched last Dec. 24 after they observed a lack of taxis in the airport.

Cuizon said the service will last until Jan. 6.

Cuizon said the bus service was spearheaded by SM City Cebu in cooperation with the MCIAA, Mactan airport private operator GMC-Megawide Cebu Airport Corp. and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

Cuizon said SM is using MyBus hybrid buses.

Service starts at 7 a.m. and ends at 10 p.m. daily.

The pick-up and drop-off point at the airport is outside the domestic terminal.

The pick-up and drop-off point at the North Reclamation Area is the jeepney terminal at SM City Cebu. (PNA) SCS/EB/RSM
