Talambanons Avail Free Services

“Dako among pasalamat ni Mayor Mike Rama nga naay libreng serbisyo niabot sa among barangay, pareha karon nalibre ang pagpatuli sa akong anak ug mahal baya kung adto sa hospital,” said Diana Obaob, 30, who was one of the thousands of residents of Barangay Talamban who availed of the free services through the City Hall at Your Doorstep today May 6, 2016 Friday.

In an interview with the BARUGG News, Obaob further shared that the activity is of great help to the Cebuanos to save money, time and effort in going to the different offices in Cebu City Hall just to avail their services.

Amid the scorching heat of the sun, thousands of Talambanons flocked to the vacant lot in Sitio Kadauhan in the said barangay to avail the services offered by the 22 departments comprising the city government here.

The free services included Medical and Dental Services; Circumcision Operation; Birth, Marriage and Death certificates consultation; Legal Consultation; Real Property Consultation; Repair and Installation of Street Lights and Artesian Wells; Cedula issuance; Seedling distribution; Pet registration and vaccination; Pre-screening on Job Fair Employment referral; Free hair-cutting; Drainage and Road Maintenance; Traffic issues and Concerns consultation; Blood typing, blood sugar testing, and internal medicine distribution; Mass Feeding; Cutting and trimming of trees; Urban Poor Related issues consultation; Seminar and orientation of drug related issues; and Information dissemination, among several others.

The City Hall at Your Doorstep is an initiative of Mayor Rama which he started in the year 2010. It aims to bring the basic services from the 22 Departments comprising the Cebu City Government closer to the people and avail it for free without going to the City Hall.

The city’s Frontline Services was conducted in Barangay Talamban for the Seventh time now since it started its operations in 2010. Talamban is one of the eighty villages comprising this city.
