Tail-End Of Cold Front, ‘Amihan’ Bring Cooler Temperature In Most Parts Of Luzon Tuesday

Fair weather continues and slightly cooler than normal temperatures are expected in most parts of Luzon on Tuesday because of the effects of the northeast monsoon and tail-end of a cold front, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

In its advisory, PAGASA said the tail-end of a cold front now affects Bicol Region while northeast monsoon prevails over Northern and Central Luzon.

The tail-end of a cold front is the front boundary of two air masses, which produces clouds and rain.

In Metro Manila, the temperature range for Tuesday will be from 22-31 degrees Celsius while in Baguio will be from 13-23 degrees Celsius.

For Tuesday forecast, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Bicol Region and the province of Quezon while cloudy skies with light rains will be experienced over the regions of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera and the province of Aurora.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

The state-run weather bureau issued a gale warning due to the strong to gale force winds associated with the northeast monsoon as the sea condition would be rough to very rough in the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern and Central Luzon and the western seaboard of Northern Luzon.

“Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves,” it warned.

It added moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA) JBP/CLTC
