Cebu’s homegrown Tabléa Chocolate Café announces its partnership agreement with international delivery app, foodpanda on Tuesday, September 27, at its newly renovated JY Square Lahug branch.

Tabléa Chocolate Café’s partnership with foodpanda makes ordering their signature chocolate products and desserts possible online. The objective is to provide ease and accessibility to Tabléa’s valued patrons.

With foodpanda, a popular food delivery app that already serves over a hundred restaurants in Cebu City, customers can now easily order Tabléa Chocolate beverages, cakes, and pastries anytime from foodpanda.ph or through the foodpanda app on Android or iOS.

The app can be downloaded for free. Apart from ordering food, the app can also be used to browse restaurant menus, read and share reviews and track order status. Express food delivery with foodpanda is affordable for just a minimum purchase of Php300.00.

Tabléa Chocolate Café has long been considering to provide its clients a delivery service and is now excited to be able to bring its treats to the homes and offices of its patrons with its partnership with foodpanda.

The business has its roots in Filipino tradition and in time-honored family recipes, and is the brainchild of Aya Garcia-Schlachter. Schlachter was influenced by the culinary artistry of her mother and entrepreneurial vision of her father.

For years, her mother’s “sikwate” (Cebuano for hot chocolate) has been served to guests in the family home. It was her father’s idea that this highly sought-after “sikwate” could be the basis of a viable business. So she took her mother’s recipe and her father’s idea and combined both into a chocolate café with a modern touch.

Tabéa Chocolate Café specializes in serving tabléa-based food and drinks – from cakes and pastries to hot chocolate and frios. Tablea are pure cacao tablets made from cacao beans grown in the Philippines.

Among the café’s popular baked products are the Tres Tabléas Cake and Chocolate con Churros. Tres Tabléas is a three-layered chocolate cake with tablea filling and ganache frosting, while the Spanish breakfast favorite Chocolate con Churros is a fried dough pastry that comes with a chocolate dipping sauce.

Other cake and pastry varieties are Tabléa Silvana, Tabléa Layer, Banana Walnut Muffin, Tabléa Oatmeal Fudge, Mango Mini Pie, Brownies, and Buckeyes.

Customers can enjoy a range of hot chocolate drinks and ice-blended frios: Hot Chocolate – Sipping Dark, Milk Chocolate and Flavored, Mexican Spice, and Black Chocolate; Frios – Choco, Mocha, Choco Banana, Choco Caramel, and Choco Mint.

Tabléa Chocolate Café also offers an assortment of coffee and tea, iced chocolate milky and non-chocolate flavored frios, such as banana, coffee chip, Oreo, strawberry, and vanilla.
