Starbucks founder visits PHL branch

Published

on

Starbucks Coffee Founder and Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz visited the Starbucks Coffee at The Grove by Rockwell, Pasig City, Thursday, the branch that recently bagged the “Best New Core Design in Asia 2013”.

The Starbucks Coffee branch at The Grove impressed the Starbucks community with its Philippine resort inspired theme, a theme showcasing the Filipino flare for creativity.

The branch won over all the other 111 designs of contending Starbucks Coffee branches throughout Asia.

Schultz said that it was only his second time in the Philippines. He took time to chat with the manager and the baristas, even obliging to pose for pictures with the customers who were hyped to meet the man behind one of the world’s leading coffee chains.

The first ever Starbucks Coffee branch in the Philippines opened last December 1997 at 6750 Ayala Avenue, a franchise by the Rustans Coffee Corporation. According to the official website of Starbucks Philippines, there are 195 up and running Starbucks branches all over the country today.
