South Korea Reports 1st Case Of Zika Virus

South Korea’s health authority said Tuesday it has confirmed the first case of the Zika virus in the country.

A 43-year-old man was earlier confirmed to have contracted the mosquito-borne virus which has been spreading in Latin America since last year, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The man made a business trip to Brazil for about three weeks and returned to South Korea in early March, it said. (PNA/Kyodo) JBP/SSC
