Search for the Next Pantawid Pamilya Model Children is On

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VII is again opening the Search for the Pantawid Pamilya Exemplary Children. The search is carried out to recognize the achievement of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program children beneficiaries.

The search is open to children beneficiaries who are 10-14 years old, exposed to the program for at least one (1) year and is currently in school. He/she should also be compliant to the school attendance requirement of the program and must have at least 90 percent school presence with good scholastic standing – no grades below the passing mark, non-repeater, fully-immunized, dewormed twice during the year preceded by the competition.

“We’re looking for children who set excellent examples at home, in school, and in the community where they belong and become part of the pool of children advocates of the program,” said DSWD7 regional director Mercedita P. Jabagat.

The provincial search is slated this September 17, 2015 in Bohol, September 22 (Siquijor), September 24 (Negros Oriental) and September 25 (Cebu). The regional awarding will be on October 9, 2015 in Cebu City.

There will be three provincial winners per province and will take home cash prizes, certificate of recognition and Kaya Ko ang Pagbabago merchandise.

Top provincial winners will automatically compete for the regional search with P8, 000 cash as grand prize. Runners-up will also receive P 6,000, P4, 000, P2, 500, respectively.

Criteria for this year’s search include Behavior and Practice (20%), Talent (20%), Intelligence and Wit (20%), Community and School Participation (20%), and Kaya Ko ang Pagbabago Presence and Appearance (20%).

Last year, Joan Grace Ewican of Barangay Alegria, Carmen, Bohol won the regional search and made it to the top 5 in the national competition. (Phoebe Jen Indino-Pantawid Pamilya Information Officer)
