Published

The Scania G360 and the Scania R440 will be the first Scania trucks to ply Cebu roads following yesterday’s handover ceremony to RGS Logistics, Inc. The Scania G360 and the Scania R440 can be used for a variety of applications and are engineered to deliver performance, reliability and economy.

Scania, headquartered in Sweden, is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of trucks and buses for heavy transport applications. With the overwhelming response from the market when it opened its first showroom in Manila last February 2015, Scania is set to expand its presence outside of Luzon, which is presently in Cebu and in Davao soon.

We are very excited to set foot in the Visayas as we foresee a huge demand for our trucks, which are mainly used for construction, mining and as petroleum haulers, to support the fast-paced growth and development in the region,” said Leilani Lim-Tan, Vice President of BJ Mercantile, Inc., the local distributor of Scania.

We look forward to working together with other local fleet operators like RGS Logistics, Inc. to help them improve their operations.

Scania trucks are built to help customer’s business profitability. By getting to know more about the customers, Scania can tailor-make a package of services that can match their business needs. They partner with customers to drive down operating costs, maximize uptime, achieve fuel economy and maintain productivity.

With customer profitability as the starting point, Scania wants to be the leading provider of sustainable transport. This means integrating sustainability fully into the business and working with others to tackle impacts, transform our industry and create lasting value. Studies show that 80 to 90 percent of a truck’s environmental impact occurs during use that is why Scania focuses on cutting fuel consumption and CO2 emissions to a minimum.

The Scania G and R Series are part of the Scania Streamline truck range, which come equipped with the more efficient second generation Euro 6 engines offering up to 8 percent fuel savings from the previous Euro 5 engines.

Our customers in the Visayas can expect the same level of service excellence Scania is known for in Manila and all around the world,” adds Ms. Lim Tan. “Our workshop services ensure they get the highest-quality advice, maintenance and genuine parts when they need them.

In addtion, Scania offers Driver Coaching and Training services that provide long term business benefits by improving fuel efficiency, safety and sustainability. The drivers appointed by RGS Logistics, Inc. to handle the Scania trucks have undergone vehicle introduction prior to getting their hands on wheel.

Scania also provides its customers with Fleet Management Services (FMS) which allows them to monitor driver and vehicle performance. With FMS, customers can keep track of maintenance requirements so they could plan ahead and minimize downtime. FMS enables Scania to provide Driver Coaching services to improve each driver’s style of driving to maximize fuel efficiency, reduce wear and tear and enhance safety on the road.
