Run For a Cause Set off November 23

In celebration of the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Month, the Zonta Club Foundation Inc. organizes the run for “Zonta Says No” slated on November 23, 2014, 4:30AM at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

The run aims to raise support the “Zonta Says No”- a Zonta International campaign to raise awareness and increase actions to end violence against women and girls around the world.

The race includes a competitive 3K, 5K and 10K Run with a post-event family activities on the same day. All race categories are inclusive of orange T-shirts and racing bibs.

An entry fee for 3K is PhP 300; 5K is PhP 400; and 10K is PhP 500.

There will be cash prizes for the top five of each category. The grand prize for first place of 10K is PhP 5,000 cash; PhP 3,000 for 5K; and PhP 1,500 for 3K.

The proceeds of the event will go toward a seed fund for the construction of the Zonta Center for violence against women, a community service center which provides victims advocacy and support services such as civil legal assistance, shelter, medical and psychological counselling for victims and their families.

Entry forms are available until Nov. 22 at Cebu City Sports Center, Runnr Shop in Ayala Center Cebu, HP Store in Cyberzone SM City Cebu, HP Concept Store in Ayala Center Cebu, and My Pet Station in Tres Borces St., Mabolo Cebu City.

The event is a joint effort of Province of Cebu, City of Cebu, Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, University of the Visayas and Benedicto College, Pinay in Action and Ayala Center Cebu, Cebu Holdings Inc., Cebu Business Park and Omega Pro Liniment.
The Zonta Club, which is one of the pioneering women clubs in the Philippines founded November 8, 1968, is a non-governmental global organization of women executives and professionals working together to improve the legal, political and economic status of women worldwide.
