Robber Dead in a Gunfight with Police

Robber was shot dead by an off-duty police officer on a Sunday evening inside a jeepney along Magallanes Street, Brgy. Ermita, Cebu City, March 24, 2019.

The robber was identified as Hygie Mambiar, a resident of Sitio Tabay-Lawom, Brgy. TIsa, Cebu City.

In the investigation by the police, the robber declared a hold-up in a jeepney but met bad luck when an off-duty police officer was also a passenger of the said jeepney.

When the robber realized that a passenger was a police he immediately pulled his pistol and pointed it to the police officer prompting the officer to defend himself and shot the robber.

The robber sustained gunshot wounds resulting to his death.

A .22 caliber revolver was recovered from the suspect. (ASC)
