RNC Drafts RPAN 2017-2022

Recognizing the key roles of different agencies in the success of the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2017-2022, the Central Visayas Regional Nutrition Committee conducted the finalization workshop for the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2017-2022 during its 3rd Quarter Regional Nutrition Committee –Technical Working Group Meeting s 2017 held on 03-04 October 2017 at the Cordova Home Village Hotel, Cordova, Cebu.

Fourteen representatives from the RNC member agencies and LGUs attended the two-day workshop. Among the attending agencies were DOST R7, DA R7, DOH RO7, EH-VH, and NCP. NAOs and CNPCs from the cities of Cebu, Dumaguete, Lapu-lapu and Carmen, Bohol were also present to provide the LGU’s point of view.

Mr. Reginaldo T. Guillen of NNC’s Nutrition Policy and Program Division (NPPD) facilitated the RPAN finalization workshop where the participants reviewed the output of the previous RPAN preparatory workshops conducted and identified the targets and remaining programs, projects and activities to be included in the RPAN.

NPC Dr. Parolita A. Mission thanked the members of the RNC for their continued support in the fight against malnutrition by always looking at the nutrition implication in their respective programs. Dr. Mission also encouraged the LGUs to anchor their local nutrition action plans in the PPAN to have a unified target towards solving malnutrition.

The NNC 7 Secretariat is now in the final wave of the preparation of the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2017-2022 document as part of the groundwork for its regional launching on 24 October 2017 at the Radissons Blu, Cebu City where LCEs and NAOs are expected to attend. NVS
