The works were all placed on a red wall and shined on with bright, white lights in a dark room. All artworks represented a different style, from geometric to colorful to monochromatic. All artworks were unique, haunting and gorgeous.

Summer by Geraldine Sy

One of the artworks that caught my attention was “Summer” by Geraldine Sy. The way the semi-pastel color palette blends is just calming to look at, and it does match the summer theme. Asides from beaches, one of the current popular summer activities is trekking, and the artwork depicts the subject packed with her backpack and summer-themed shirt as she is ready to explore what summer has to offer her.

Two Faces of Anthenia by Karla Durangparang

Another gorgeous artwork is the Two Faces of Anthenia by Karla Durangparang. The “person-featured-with-two-faces” theme is pretty common depiction in literaries and artworks, but the artist made it look very eye-catching. Yes, the two faces of Anthenia are featured, but they both stand out in a very graceful way, where the two faces are decorated with leaves and pink blossoms. It is an artwork both haunting and beautiful.

You Be Easy by Mikki Sanchez

You Be Easy by Mikki Sanchez is something different, it caught my attention. Unlike the other artworks which are very carefree and flowy, this artwork is somewhat geometric and features shapes and structures. The artwork features a map of Cebu with the locations of Fuente Osmeña, SM, Capitol, and other cities. The way that all the elements in the artworks are connecting with each other makes the artwork stand out, and the contrasting of both dark and light colors mix perfectly.

At around 8:00PM, the live performances of My Dragon Eats Cat Food, Silingan ni Felicity, Glitchcity, Kids Acting Cool, Black & White, and AVRSK happened inside the first floor of the bar. The attendees were able to enjoy the bands perform while they had drinks with them. Each band performed about three to four songs.

With all different kinds of artworks, fun live bands, and maybe a little alcohol, the attendees sure had fun and ended their night well with Designubec 2015.
